The Show Must Go On

Doesn’t it just eh!

Before we know it we will be returning to work with a confident smile, ready to show the world that everything will be ok, and indeed that we are more versatile and adaptable to the circumstances that we find ourselves in than we knew possible.

This pandemic has brought out the absolute best in people all around us – albeit at a safe social distance!  For those that are in total isolation, I have seen care packages on doorsteps and continued kindness on all social media platforms.

Rather than take a bird’s eye view over London and feel drained at the silent streets we are embracing the opportunities that await us.  At Suzanne James we have temporarily closed our doors as the very essence of the business is. of course, social events and hospitality;  however the show will go on and as soon as it is safe to do so, we will be ready, waiting and armed with a team who are rested, recouped and ready to go with a renewed appetite for work!

Having had 100% of events cancelled between 24th March and mid-July, and knowing that the summer months allow us a bit of padding to get through the start of the year (which is always quiet on the events front), we have shown our ability to be innovative, adaptable and very capable of adjusting our working practices to meet the seismic shifts in the industry.

For now we can offer virtual cookery classes for you and your team, allowing you all to cook and eat together whether that be once a month or once a week, it’s a great way to reconnect and stay in touch whilst you are on furlough or working from home.  We can do brunch, lunch, afternoon tea or supper classes as a private video call!  Training is allowed when on furlough, so why not offer a quick cookery lesson to your staff?

You can also follow our free cooking classes on instagram @eastdulwichchef where we are showcasing a random selection of ingredients found in most fridges, freezers, and store cupboards along with showcasing some special treat suppers for those that just need a change or challenge!

If you are a company or venue that is looking to contract a caterer to provide your staff with in-house hospitality when lockdown is over then please do get in touch.  It seems this is the new ‘thank you’ and it is certainly something we can help with, whether that be a Monday morning breakfast or a dress down Friday lunch just give us a shout!

We are a sustainable, eco-aware and eco-friendly caterer keen to look after your guests, staff or clients in this every changing world. We have been putting sustainability first and winning awards for just that since 2003!

We are here and we are ready so give us a call on 020 8693 6331 or email us on sue@suzannejames.co.uk
