Roberto Szasz Scone Making Masterclass

On the off chance that you didn’t know about the Dulwich WI fundraising day at @fiftysevensj with @eastdulwichchef and @redhandedcakes, then you really missed out….
Over the weekend there were three fabulous scone making masterclasses tutored by Paris trained head pastry chef Roberto Szasz,  assisted by Suzanne James, the Dulwich WI’s VP and caterer extraordinaire. With a unique recipe specially created for today’s event, all ‘trainees’ successfully made the most delightfully light scones which they gladly took away with them – but not before enjoying a cream tea exclusively with their chef trainers! This one to one time gave the perfect opportunity to talk shop and discover the top pastry tips in the industry.
Meanwhile in the restaurant, guests came and enjoyed a luxurious cream tea with scones, clotted cream, home made strawberry jam and of course, tea from local company @birchalltea.
A special thanks goes our to our committee and members who kindly gave up their Saturday to make today such a huge success.
If you are interested in getting to know your Dulwich WI then we meet on the 2nd Monday of each month at our new home, the Dulwich Hamlet Football Club from 7.30pm until 9.30pm but as their happy hour is 6pm – 8pm, it’s worth getting there early (that as well as their rather spectacular pie supper if course!). October is all about inclusion for us so please do email us if you would like to come along and we will send over details.
We look forward to meeting you all!
