Come Rain or Shine, we make dreams come true.....

I know we have friends in high places and never has it been so proven than when the sun shines on a wedding day!

On Saturday we catered a fabulous wedding at the grade 2 listed Horniman Conservatory, on what had to be one of the most glorious days of the year so far.

I know how much everyone enjoyed the wedding because I had many personal thank you’s on the night but what few realise is, that it takes a team to plan a wedding, not just me, and my team are probably the best in the business! From Amanda, our Head Wedding Planner to James, our Senior Event Manager right through to the team of Chefs and Porters, led by Natalia and Front of House who all do an absolutely outstanding job and deliver each unique wedding to the exact spec of our couples. We are members of the National Association of Wedding Planners and the evidence is apparent.

The kitchen is always pretty full on in the run up to a wedding but does anyone realise that it wouldn’t be possible without everyone that makes these very special days happen from the first phone call to closing the doors and locking up at the end of the night?

Tonight’s menu was a delicious Crab Salad which used only the sweet white meat. It was mixed with finely chopped English Cucumber and Tomato Petals, Chives and had a garland of local Edible Pansies and Micro Cress from Mini Crops in Deptford.

Main Course was Fillet of Cornish Black Bream with Brown Shrimps and Lemon Butter Sauce, served with Fine Beans and Bowls of Minted Baby Potatoes. A classic summer dish, taking into consideration seasonal, organic sustainable Great British food. Vegetarian guests were delighted with (Vegetarian) Parmesan Polenta, Portobello Mushrooms, Twice Baked Goats Cheese Soufflé, Wild Garlic Pesto & Pea Shoots, a dish which we find can even convert hardened carnivores.

The couple skipped dessert, preferring instead to offer an evening Cheese Stall from Cheeses displayed as a wedding cake earlier in the day, served alongside crackers, breads, home made chutney and picky fruit this is always a great way to keep guests ‘topped up’ through the evening.

The lovely couple said they “had the best day they could ever have hoped for” which is always our greatest wish!
